month, Stockton Metropolitan Airport introduced a new therapy dog program in partnership with Paws 4 Friends.
“We are delighted to partner with Paws 4 Friends to bring this wonderful program to Stockton Metropolitan Airport,” said Richard Sokol, Director of Stockton Metropolitan Airport. “We understand that flying can be a stressful experience for some passengers, and we believe that the presence of these therapy dogs will create a more relaxed and enjoyable environment for everyone.”
The volunteer group, Paws 4 Friends, is dedicated to using the healing power of canine companionship to improve individuals’ well-being. “We are honored to partner with Stockton Metropolitan Airport on this initiative,” shared Kevi Grier, Program Coordinator with Paws 4 Friends. “Our therapy dogs have a unique ability to provide comfort and reduce anxiety, and we are confident that this program will positively impact travelers passing through the airport.”
The specially trained therapy dogs and their handlers will be at the airport before flights on most Mondays and Fridays and are eager to bring comfort and companionship to travelers of all ages while providing a welcoming and supportive airport environment. With upcoming improvements to increase the airport’s capacity for commercial airline services, programs like this are more important than ever.
