San Joaquin County Ranks High in Job and Wage Growth

In the last quarter of 2015, according to the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, San Joaquin County had a 4.2% growth in employment and a 7.1% gain in average weekly wages. This jump in employment and wages placed San Joaquin 27th among 343 largest U.S counties.
Warehousing and logistics account for much of the growth experienced within San Joaquin. The Amazon warehouse, alone, has more than doubled warehousing jobs in the region. This trend will continue, since Amazon has recently announced a planned one million square foot expansion at their Tracy facility.
San Joaquin is the only county within California to rank highly in both categories. Stanislaus, Placer, San Francisco, and Riverside counties were in the top 10 percentages for job growth.
